Hey, I can see the small pipe by getting down under the car. Its right in front of the oil pan and starter or alternator(whichever is right beside the oil pan). It is connected to a hose and it broke off where it connects to the starter or alternator(whichever it is). can anyone tell me what this pipe is for??? it broke off and is just hanging, so i guess it needs to be replaced.

A/C hard line.....bet the air conditioning dont work now.:)

No offense man but do you really not know the difference between an AC compressor, starter and alt? Either way I agree with the AC hose.

haha nope!!! i really have a lot of head knowledge, but not much on-hands work on cars at all. what can i say, i is dumb:p
anyways, if its just the a/c line, will it hurt to just leave it broken off for the winter???

well.it will be fine, but you will end up with moisture in the ac system...you may wanna cap off the ends if you arent going to replace it right away..and make sure to replace the drier when you do fix it and have it evac'd and recharged..
