I have question about the stock air box. I have a B13 and would like to know if the stock air box's on these cars were efficient? Kinda like on the Integra Type R I know of some of those cars with stock air boxes that have ran in the 14's. Im thinking of putting one back on my car if they are efficient.

Well if you run a drop in K&N filter it could be pretty efficient. But everytime someone takes it off and puts a CAI or POP filter they always get gains.

Its your call.

No one else in here uses or has used a stock air box on their car?

Not to be a prick but people don't pay what they pay for CAI's when a stock airbox would work just as well or better. :)

Well people will pay money for about anything. Im just asking if the stock airbox is efficient on the B13 SE-R? There are tons of people that put aftermarket cai on there Type R's but there are some that can run really well with the stock airbox still on the car.

well, they work but not there not efficient, they take air from the hot engine bay, a cold air intake takes air from away from the engine bay and uses a k and n filter, which do you think is more efficient?

I see the point you are tring to make but really CAI are worth the $$ when it comes to our cars.

To give you a example when I installed my CAI I dropped 3/10's off of my 1/8 time.

I dont have a CAI on my car now Im not sure what it is maybe a weapon r or something?? It is a warm air intake because the filter is right behind the battery. I was thinking of maybe putting a stock air box back on my car with the polished intake pipe running to the stock air box with a k&n drop in filter in there. Im still learning somewhat about these SE-R's because I had a Honda for many years.

Go to www.se-r.net it has dyno charts and very good writeups on intakes for our cars

The Hotshot CAI, Place Racing CAI, and AEM CAI all make better gains than the stock air box
