I just went to get an emissions test done for the first time since blocking off the egr system and looping the lines. The technician saw the shiny block-off plate and asked if the system had been removed. He then proceeded to tell me that the emissions test computer ask if the car being tested has the system. Although, he kept referring to it as the air pump. Anyways, the tech said that if the system is removed and he enters that into the computer then it will automatically fail the NOx test. The guy didn't even bother testing what came out of the exhaust pipe because he said it would fail because the egr system was gone.

Anyone have any experience with this or any recommendations on where to go in NoVA to get emissions done? The tech recommended I go to the Pakistani shop across the street but I was frustrated at that point and just went home

I blocked off but left the Value in place just as a visual prop and plugged the lines , so it's there for them to see but doesn't operate

that's weird. i live in VA too and have asked some other SR20 guys in VA about the EGR delete and emissions tests and they've never had any problems. maybe try another shop?

I tried another shop. This time for emissions and inspection. They wrote me up for more crap including the power steering delete. I think I am just gonna get a trailer to transport it to the track.
