my car is at this one shop right now... they are in the process of changing my radiator support... they told me i have to get an OEM one from a dealer, which they are charging me $261... i found one for $75 and emailed them the link

but they told me that the $75 is not OEM... it is aftermarket... true, its not made from NISSAN, but aren't they the same... i'm confused...

I don't see why it wouldn't work...

Should work. The only problem you might run into is the quality. If it is made from a thinner metal it will bend easy, and be harder for them to weld.

I have had experience with OEM and aftermarket parts...including a hood and a bumper. I went OEM on the bumper out or personal choice but went aftermarket for my hood. Lots of times places wont do aftermarket because it isnt the company they deal with so they cannot guaruntee quality and therefor will not back up their warranty on their repairs. Why not just install the radiator support yourself and let them do the rest.

Of course they are going to tell you they need an OE unit. This way they can rape you on the price. If you supply the $75 part they have no way of marking it up. $261 for a radiator support is highway robbery. I'd be willing to bet their cost is $75.

Step away from your computer, get your car out of the shop and make the repair yourself with the $75 part. It's an easy fix if you have the tools and time.
