Dan,
I have been trying to get the orange out for years. Without having leaks this is an unsuccessful project unless you start with a different lense. Raser X told me way back that he wish he never did it because they leaked all the time. I am still doing research on this and if you find out anything please let me know. I will do the same! Have a good one!

I'm getting my ambers painted soon. I know a kid around here with an SE who has it done to his car and his buddy's SE-R and they look REAL good. I actually thought they were all red tails until he told me they were painted.

I used a transparent red tint that I found online. It goes on just like window tint. I used it to cover the yellow part of the tail lights. Came out perfect. Looks stock. If I knew how to post pics, I would show you  .

You should get a free site like on Homestead.com. Then you can link whatever pics you want.

Thanks... it's a cat-back Greddy SP. As for the taillight tint, I got it online at eurostreetgraphics.com (www.eurostreetgraphics.com). Their website is sort of under construction, but they have an 800 number in there somewhere. Call them and ask for a roll of red transparent taillight tint. It' something like $15 shipped. Trust me you'll love it.

What Kind of Front lip is that?, Is it the Stillen add-on??

Yeah, it's the Stillen front lip. My wife surprised me with it for my birthday this Summer  . I just hope it does not interfere with my future intercooler. LOL.

Did the tailights on both of my 200's...just make sure to do several coats. The red will eventually fade over time. First time I did it the red lasted about 2 years.

pic fromt the 2nd time I painted the tailights

That makes 3 of us, but I have never seen anybody do it successfully.

if someone starts making a aftermarket clear rear blinkers for the 200sx they will make some cash

Clearcorners.com did make a prototype setup that could be full clear, half clear/red, etc... but they ditched it for some reason. There is no way at this point to do it yourself cleanly. You would have to invest many hours doing it yourself. Not worth it... I realized after F'ing up mine, that I like the stock tails just how they are.

I am more than willing to invest a full weekend into getting them cleared. Is it something that one person can do? Is the process similar to clearing the front turn signals? I want a half red/clear combo, clear turn signals in the rear?

Any hints? I'm thinking about trying this over Thanksgiving break.
