What tranny/axle setups are people with 350+whp using
I'm thinkin weld case, cyro treat gears, phantom grip ( only used for drag, and back and forth to school, no autoX,) and driveshaftshop.com stage 2 axles????????????

I have been using stock axles with a welded tranny case and cryo treated gears. The stock axles are good for 400-450 whp.

really??? I've had my axles rebuilt like 4 or 5 times!!!!, my mechanic said that since my car is lowered (@2in.), it puts my axles at an odd angle, making them too long. causing problems when I turn. sounded kinda like BS, but kinda understandable. I also had my tranny replaced because of some "unknown problem with the lsd causing it to stay "locked", which in turn distroyed my axles when i turned. I'm an idiot!, it all smells fishy now that i put it all together. what could be causing my car to eat axles??

He's right about your axles being too long, but that destroys CV joints, not axles. At the proper angle, the CV will last just as long as the axle. If you had somebody fabricate you special axles that were only a few mm shorter, I'm sure you'd stop having problems, though. WTF he was talking about with the LSD is beyond me. Your transmission should survive okay with the mods listed, but it still won't be bulletproof. Call JWT and ask them when they're going to be done with the Spec-V/Maxima to B13/B14 swap kit! ;)

spec v/maxima to B14?? they're using spec v/maxima trannies?
my mechanic says that he can get the guy that does NOPI's axles(whatever that means) to shorten my axles, but the custom axles would cost me @$500, and thats with no warranty whatsoever. who makes upgraded CV's for our cars? I am about to have another @150 whp so I need to do something.
