: whats wrong with my camber?

about a week ago i replaced the passenger front lca in my 200sx. the bushing was bad in the old one. i pulled a low mileage one from a junkyard for $30 and installed it.

my car is a 95 and the 200sx i pulled if from was a 97. researched showed me that it was the same part (so i thought).

a couple days ago i noticed my camber on the passenger side is out of wack. it is waayyyy steeper than the other side. What could be the issue here?

the car runs and drives fine and the alignment is still good. You would never know there was a camber issue if it wasnt so visually obviouse.

it looks like the one you installed was a lot longer, that's a lot of camber, you should correct it soon or your tire is going to be fucked up

Unless your struts are slotted a LOT. Then you just need to loosent the 2 bolts pull the wheel out and hope it's reasonably straight.

Either you lost a bolt on the bottom of the strut, or the control arm is bent. The B14 arms are all the same, so you didn't get a longer one.

if the control arm was bent, wouldnt that make it shorter and give it positive camber?

i will put it on the jack tomorrow and see what i can see. the struts are stock.

It depends on how the arm is bent.

How's that?

A bend will make the distance between the two ends shorter. There's no way a bend could make a piece of metal longer than without bend.

thats true for a straight peice of metal. but a peice of metal that is curved will be longer if it is bent straight.

that was not the case though.

when i was prying the old lca i must have slid the bolts in the slots that hold the strut. i loosed then, slid them back out, realigned the car, and now its all good.

thanks for your help
