When you take out your blower resistor from underneath the glove box when you pull it out how do u know its bad.......
please help
the reason why is that my doesn't work in postiion 1 and 4 but work in position 2 and 3

you cant tell by looking at it, its bad if your fan motor only works on setting 4, and is dead on 1-3.

IF you think its bad replace it, since it doesn't cost that much in the first place.

I'm an electronics type, so I took my blower resistor out because of non-working speeds (can't remember which ones) to try and fix it. I could see straight away that the 'resistor' was just printed circuit tracks, no actual resistor as such, and the problem was a solder joint that had suffered from high temperature deterioration. I just got rid of the old solder and resoldered it some 3yrs ago and it's been fine since.
If position 4 isn't working, I'll bet you it's the switch itself since position 4 doesn't use a resistor.
