How do u know its bad when you pull it out????

if anyone can help much appreciated

only problem is mine doesn't work on 1 and 4 positions and in the 2 and 3 positions it works fustrated

Well if your speed selector only works on the highest one, then it's bad. It's right underneath the glove compartment. You have to unscrew a couple screws I believe. Took me no time at all to do, and I've done it twice.

Close examination might reveal scorched circuitry. The sure-fire test is if the fan switch works only on setting 4.

Really:confused: I ordered mine from Courtesy and slapped the entire thing into the board in about 5min. It had to be the easiest repair I have ever made. Oh yea--the only setting that worked on mine was number 4. I don't remeber what I paid, but it wasn't bad. Hell, you could hit a junk yard and yank one for less than $5 I bet.

I think it is the fan selector switch. Mine only works on 1,2,3 but not four and that is what I will be replacing. This topic was on the se-r.net list a couple weeks ago. I don't know what this part is like or where it goes.
