What would be the best mods to go ahead and do before doing a motor swap? Just for some little power gains before the motor actually comes. Nothing big but little parts to make the new motor really go.
I mean starting with only an intake (non-cold air)...where do you go from there?
Thanks,

That is a very broad ?. What motor are you getting? You certainly don't want to put on something that will be rendered useless by the next motor. Actuall I think you should wait and save your $ for the motor swap. Something unexpected may show up and that $ will come in handy ;)

I was looking at the VE motor....I want to go all N/A, but I was just wondering how to get kick started.

this may come off as being crass (but i'm not tryin' to be), but have thought about stoppin' that beast? personally, i'd put the $$ in to my 60-0 rather than the other. or you could always look at suspension. do have a good set of motor mounts? how about a better clutch, to grab those horsies faster! okay, enough w/ the alternate line of thinking. an exhaust and home-made intake will net you a few ponies, but until you get rid of the nasty stock exhaust manifold, you'll never acheive happiness. advancing the timing is free, can't compete w/ that one. a short throw shifter, it doesn't make you any more power. but you can rip thru the gears a lil' quicker! i'm sure there are others, i just can't think of 'em right know. :D

Thanks, ans thats ok......what I have learned about cars is that one second I want a motor, and the next I want suspension or something else. I guess I want more power + suspension, but I cant figure what I wanna do first. Either way I need money......I am still trying to sell my stock wheels!

The proper order is suspension-brakes-engine OR brakes-suspension-engine. Either way engine is last. You can do a little at a time with all of them but if you do an engine swap you really need to address the brakes first. Otherwise playing with a little here and there is not a big deal because you are not changing the overall performance of the car dramatically all at once.
