ok so from what i hear is jim wolfe ECU's have to be sent out everytime you wanna add something and sounds like a pain in the ass to me and wouldnt seem like it would run correct...so my question is can a stock ecu for an sr20det be tuned like open source and by anyone?

I don't think you can tune JWT ECUs yourself. My experience has been that once you have a JWT tuned ECU, you can send it back to them and get it re-tuned for about $100. They have different tunes depending on your engine configuration so unless you are upgrading parts such as cams then there is no reason to retune.
If you are looking for something you can tune yourself, try researching calum.

well since calumsult site doesnt work my guess is there not around any more so my only option left for open source realtime tuning is nistune.

I think calumsult posted not too long again that he is getting out of the game but you should still be able to find some stuff floating around the forum. The vendor page page is still up in case you need more info. http://www.sr20forum.com/calumsult-archived-informational-purposes/
