: Tennessee SR20DE meet?
I'm just sitting up late at nite trying to figure when we could all have a little sr20de forum meet. I do believe that last year we had it at the park in Smyrna, that is what i wanna get started this year. I dont want to throw around any dates yet. I would like for us to discuss around and see when the best time possible is. It really doesn't bother me when the date is, just give me enough time to schedule for those days off, i'm sure we can get somein going. I'm also wondering when the next SE-R US meet is... If you guys have any clue or just wanna add some opinion in here, hit it up.
eric96ser 10-04-2002, 08:59 AM Are you talking about the convention? Its going to be Sept 12-14 next year. I get to get together would be nice. Too bad we didn't think about this earlier in the summer.
i totally agree Eric, but the weather is still pretty nice outside on the weekends.. Maybe if we plan before the end of Oct it wont be too late...?
AaroNX 10-04-2002, 11:25 AM I am up for a meet. I have met Eric and Luis already. I would like to meet some more of the people on here. We can all sit around and laugh at my ghetto ass car.:p

Jason Barrett(red B14)....if anyone can find him. Last time I saw him was when we went to Union Hill...for drag racing.
nismo00 10-04-2002, 06:45 PM Also, my friend Paul(blue WRX) would most likely come because we have infected him w/much respect for the SR20....he hopes to get one someday as another toy.
AaroNX 10-04-2002, 07:01 PM I was under the impression that alot of people would be at the import night at union hill the 18th. Who's going?
Bowlcut 10-04-2002, 09:04 PM im down for anything most anytime if its cheap enough :). but seriously if someone said lets do something tomorrow night id be down for it. someone spearhead the movement and just give a few weeks advance notice for anyone that works on the weekend and go for it.
we could either brown bag something, or even do a pot luck type lunch. weather will likely be nice till early november id guess. since its not droped to a high of 60's yet. then a location would be good. seems most of us are around south nashville the most. symrna wouldnt be horrible, ive never been, kinda bit of a drive but hell i drive all over the damn place as it is. but just say something like when, or nominate someone to plan it.
i hang out with Jason on regular basis, but he would most likely be down with a meet, he knows most of you guys, so it wont be a prob.
Kelway 10-05-2002, 10:09 AM It depends. Smyrna is a pretty good drive. Chatanooga is not too bad for me, but I it is a lot farther for you guys.
AaroNX 10-05-2002, 10:59 AM I really don't care all that much where we meet at. I (as always) would like for it to be at the strip. I go to my strip near lawrenceburg every saturday, and if alot of people show at the import night at union hill, it would like a meet anyway. Ohh and just cause you go to the track doesn't mean you have to race. It would just be nice to meet some of you guys and see the work you have done to your cars. We need to set a date though so that my g/f can plan something else to do as I am sure she would be bored there.
nismo00 10-05-2002, 11:05 AM well, is there a place that is sort of a happy middle ground so Kelly doesn't have to drive really far and the Nashville area guys don't either?
Bowlcut 10-05-2002, 01:17 PM well there is a 1/8 track up near crossville. but personaly id rather it not be at an event/track. id rather it be a meet, get together talk type place. cant really hang out at a track IMHO. if it was at a track id more than likely not go, just dont like the atmosphere at most of them. Cookeville is about an hour drive from here, and little over an hour from knoxville. there are a few cool parks up there and i know a few "touring" roads up there we could drive for the view and such. I used to do them every other week, little over the speedlimit and they are tons of fun.
llaprad1 10-05-2002, 04:24 PM Actually thats not a bad idea to meet out in the country like an hour away from Nashville. Good driving!
Kelway 10-05-2002, 11:33 PM Off topic, but If any of you guys want to come out to Deal's Gap (AKA: "The Dragon", 318 curves in 11 miles) for a few runs, that would be cool, too. I've not been, but I gonna go soon. It's in Blount County. http://www.dealsgap.com/ and there are tons of other sites.
Cookeville wouldn't be too bad for me, but I don't want to make it hard for everybody else. Me and Calum are the only guys out this way.
llaprad1 10-06-2002, 03:57 AM I went to the website, but it wasnt self-expanatory... is this a *private* road?
Bowlcut 10-06-2002, 09:26 AM no it is not a private road. its open to the public. one reason why im sorta iffy about going up and down it. they say its pretty hairy and its got so popular that there are a bunch of idiots on it these days. posted speed limit is like 45 but you would be a moron to try to do that basicly. it used to be a motorcycle only type hangout. then everyone started hearing about it.
oh and i didnt want to sound like a dick, but if this is at a track somewhere id be less likely to come not saying that i wouldnt totaly .
AaroNX 10-06-2002, 12:44 PM Whatever you guys come up with will be fine with me, I just mentioned the strip since I think there is going to be a few of us at Union Hill the 18th.
llaprad1 10-06-2002, 01:00 PM I was thinking we could all meet at some type of picnic-y park thats a little out of the way. It would make for a nice drive to get there, and we could be uninterrupted by police-type people (especially cops in Smyrna).
I'll look up state parks and post what I've found and where possible places could be.
