yeah i kinda assumed an alternator would make more power as the pully speed increased. oh well... anyone recommend a powerful aftermarket alternator?

my battery light did the same thing right after I swapped in the DET, replaced the alternator and the problem stopped

it could be a few things....bad diodes in the alt. or *** belt. the belt could be slipping even if there is no noise. higher the rpm more likly that the belt will slip. or did you get some type of oil or something like that on the belt or pulleys? i hope that will help.

thanks, I think it is just the alternator going bad. I'll just wait and see if it does or not. BTW no oil or anything like that on the belt, and the belts are tight.

Just get a voltmeter...turn the car on and test the battery..if the battery is reading less than 13.5 volts it is the alternator. It should be around 14 volts with the car on. Mine went a while ago and I bought a rebuilt one for $65.00 and it still going and I had it for over 1.5 years. but my car is stock...maybe a better aftermarket one is better for you???
