so i started my car the other day, it was fairly cold, and it has a noise at low idol that sounds like something is loose underneath the valve cover, it dont sound like a lifter or valve spring, i was wondering if maybe a cam, or bearing is goin bad, but it only does it at low idol and it dont get faster as u speed up, it just goes away. what are your suggestions to check for?

Perhaps it could be the chain guide along the top of the head? It could be rattling? Does it do the noise when the car is warmed up? Maybe you need a new timing chain tensioner?

yeah i figured that out yesterday cars got 200k on her so its due for timing chain, problem is i dont have enough resources to do it so i gotta take it somewhere and with all the stuff you gotta take off i might as well do and engine swap and put one in with less miles or get a brand new one if i can find a reman motor, i barely got the water pump in without yankin the motor there is just no room on that side of the motor
