: auto to manual swap...
92nx2k 10-04-2002, 08:00 PM guys...ive got it all. b&m short throw shifter, fidanza 8.5 lb flywheel, Energy motor mounts and bushings...trans from a 93, shifter linkeage and knob, brake and clutch pedals, clutch cable, crossmember which is slightly angled differently on the automatic and the different rear motor mount, and centerforce dual friction clutch. now....for the fun part....the swap. the hardest and first thing i have to do is drill holes in the firewall for the clutch pedal and cable to go through...those 3 holes to the right of the brake master cylinder. anyone have any good ideas as to how i can measure up in there to mark and drill accurately? its such a tight spot with weird angles. thanks in advance.

92nx2k 10-06-2002, 08:35 PM nevermind...got the clutch and brake pedals swapped out! hehe. it was hard ***. and my torque converter is welded to the flexplate...had to saw it off...hmm. interesting. lol. now...the last thing i need are 8 flywheel bolts...since the flexplate bolts for the auto are slightly shorter...uggh. anyway, its coming along. couldnt get the bolts anywhere on a sunday but i will resume in the morning when the world turns again...
AaroNX 10-06-2002, 09:56 PM I plan to do that early next year. Where did you get the crossmember? IS it new or from a parts car?
92nx2k 10-07-2002, 04:02 PM Parts car. if you have any other questions as to things that you might need, ask me. there are ALOT. i may actually write some insructions on exactly how to do this swap. anyway, a parts car is def. helpful. your name is aaron too? so is mine, weird.
AaroNX 10-07-2002, 07:56 PM Thats cool, I found a classic ser in a junk yard close that was a stick so I can get the pedals and stuff from it, but I have yet to find a good crossmember. It would be cool if you did a writeup on it as well.
92nx2k 10-07-2002, 08:22 PM yea......lots of stuff man. LOTS of stuff. took careful thinking to even begin it. ill write something up soon. she will be running tomorrow. later
92nx2k 10-12-2002, 07:21 PM DONE! DONE AND LOVING IT!!!
Nxkid 10-14-2002, 10:59 AM Hey man Good Job!!
Im in the process of doing this to my Nx right now.
Hey how hard was it to drill the holes threw the firewall?? And what bit size did you use for the center hole(cable hole)?
92nx2k 10-14-2002, 07:40 PM i dont know what size, just found something in the garage that looked close
doesnt matter if its slightly too large. i drilled the holes from the inside. it can be done from the outside with an angle drill of some sort. good luck, and drill those holes good or the pedal wont hang right! let me know how it goes, and any other questions id be glad to answer
NissanTuner 10-14-2002, 08:17 PM how much better than an automatic is it?
i love my nx, even though its an auto....but i still want a stick!
if the swap doesnt take more than say, a day with all the stuff in front of me, i might do it.
92nx2k 10-16-2002, 06:50 PM it is so much faster. i am beating modded Si's....on my stock motor with a lightened flywheel and intake.
AaroNX 10-17-2002, 10:44 AM Do you have before and after track times or anything like that?
92nx2k 10-19-2002, 12:08 AM no...but ill have before and after dynos soon!
AaroNX 10-19-2002, 07:11 AM That's cool man keep us posted.
B13SentraXE 03-13-2003, 11:42 PM So what's up with the before and after dynos? I plan on doing this by the end of the year with Ben92SentraSE-R. Were these all the parts that you used? Do you have a write up anywhere?
AaroNX 03-14-2003, 09:24 AM Hey any of you guys that have swapped have your stock auto tranny left? If so I need one. Let me know.
92nx2k 03-14-2003, 09:39 AM YES. and i need to sell. will let go cheap. been sitting in my garage! takin up space! make me an offer....send me a private message or something.
