: Difference between 91, 92, and 93 NX2000?
I used the search and found this (92 vs 93)
http://www.sr20deforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13795
but I was wondering what the changes were from 91?
Thanks,
Nate
i dun think there were any.
nothing significant that's for sure.
other, im not too sure but my bet is on no diff
RollcageSR20 10-06-2002, 04:24 AM *ALL* NX2000's came with the viscous limited-slip differential from the factory.
There wasn't many changes with the NX2000 over the years, other than color and options. In '93, the mouldings were now body-colored instead of grey, and the instrument cluster was changed (tach and speedo switched sides, and gas and temp needles went up and down instead of side-to-side.) From an engine standpoint, no changes whatsoever.
Pretty White 10-06-2002, 07:25 AM Interior. Fabric was different. Thats it.
FastNX 10-06-2002, 10:09 AM I beleive the window tint options were different in 1993...Dave knows what I'm talking about...
MauiBlueGride 10-06-2002, 02:16 PM 91&92 had cable driven speedo's - 93's had electrical ones...
Having owned all three years - pretty much everything else was the same except the above mentioned items.

Yeah, green vs bronze. I have bronze on my 91.
se-r sam 10-06-2002, 06:07 PM Wasn't there something about the t-tops? Standard and optional? I don't know for sure.
92nx2k 10-07-2002, 04:08 PM hmm...guys lots of differences here. ofcourse you know the gauge pods changed in 93, to the backwards ones, right? then, in 93 the nx switched from a cable driven speedometer to an electric one with a speed sensor, changing the wiring harness slightly, the ecu programming slightly for the built in check engine code for the vss(vehicles speed sensor) and the speedometer drive gear that goes into the transmission. hmm....lets see...as far as i know 91 and 92 nxen came with foglight switches to the left and slightly under the steering wheel, but in 93 they switched it over to where the hazard and rear defrost switches are, like all the classics. there are a few other differences im sure, but those are the main ones.
AaroNX 10-07-2002, 08:00 PM Hey guys don't forget about production numbers. Supposedly only like 293 or so of them were sold in the country in 93. I am glad I got one.:D
kleensleeper 10-08-2002, 01:13 PM What about the airbag & the ac on the 93's? I know the 91's did'nt have an airbag.
92nx2k 10-08-2002, 03:54 PM also...the power steering resevoirs are different on some of them, too. some leak and some tend not to leak as badly.
MauiBlueGride 10-08-2002, 04:14 PM I think only 91' in canada didn't have an airbag - my '91 has one...
g
Also - the other guy is right - they did change PS resivors.

WOT2000 10-12-2002, 12:48 PM Y'all are pretty much accurate. Just to summarize, since I've got a 91 and 93 in the garage, a 93 at my brother's, and a couple other 92 & 93s of friends'....
* ALL 1991, 92 & 93 NXen in the USA had airbags. Otherwise, they would be required to have some other "passive restraint" like those miserable motor-mouse seat belts.
* 93 introduced striped interior upholstery (which I like better)
* 91 & 92 had light or dark grey molding around the head lights and the side strips, 93 it was all body color (much cleaner looking)
* 93 gauges changed, as mentioned previously. Also electrical vs cable speedo drive.
And now for the truly trivial shit...
* 91 & 92 had gold colored valve cover with spark plug valley painted black. 93 was all gold. Later SR20s (pptooth!) had bare aluminum.
* My 91 NX2k's fog light switch is a rocker on the left of the dash, by the cluster dimmer. 93 has it on the center console by the defog and hazard flasher switches. 92????
* 93 has Different engine bay wiring harness with cable run secured to end of valve cover, above the belts.
* 93 introduced transaxle breather tube (the open-ended "J" shaped tube by your intake and master cylinder) 91 & 92 had stubby metal breather valve on tranny.
* Think the 93s had a different factory radio / cassette unit, but who still has that anyway?! (oops - I do)
* 92 1/2 and 93 with A/C did away with seal on hood where it contacts radiator support (per TSB NTB92-112, 12/9/92).
* 93 has different, lighter A/C compressor and bracket.
* 93s don't have the air-bleeder port on the heater hose.
I dare ya' to come up with more! (exclusive of non-US cars!)

92nx2k 10-12-2002, 07:07 PM does ANYONE have a speedometer drive gear??? (that thing that your speedo cable is hooked to on your 91 or 92 se-r trans, little gear that goes into the tranny? i completed my auto to manual swap, but my trans is a 93, and my automatic drive gear is,,, DESIGNED DIFFERENTLY!!! I HAVE NO SPEEDOMETER! any help would be appreciated, the part is 100 dollars my cost at nissan. screw that.
tpeele 10-13-2002, 12:01 AM I think the 91 and 92 came with a leather wrapped steering wheel. My 93 has a plastic wheel. I think they got cheap with the 93's.
