16VE Pistons
Eagle rods
ACL Race bearings
Mildly ported head with Ti retainers / springs
64mm throttle body
Thermo spacers
Fuji header
2.25" Catback
Decat
Meziere eklectric water pump
PAS delete
Underdrive crank pully / alloy ALT pully.
NISMO AFPR
OE 259cc injectors
NISTUNE ECU with 8200rpm rev cut.

.

I previuosly had 158whp on the same dyno with an unopened block, Gen5 header, stock ECU and no meziere or PAS delete.
Its approx 12.3:1 giving 210 psi with a compression tester.

Great results!! But I do have on question

You made that much WHP with only a 2.25" exhaust??

Its a well built mandrel. I`m sure a 2.5" /3.0" would give significant gains.

My thoughts exactly. You could see even better results with a 2.5" and no question what you'd make with a 3". Is there a reason you went with the 2.25"? Is this in a daily driver or some vehicle you'd like to keep quiet?

Its not a daily. Its a dedicated track car, and has to pass some quite strick noise regs on the tracks. If i could have afforded it i would have fitted a 2.5" mandrell.

Another question

All this power was also made on 259cc injectors?? And at what fuel pressure??

The reason why I ask, is because I am pretty sure those injectors are at (or very very close) to 100% duty cycle. Very unsafe in my opinion.

Not trying to be rude or derogatory, but its just a few holes I deem would make me a little uneasy if I went with the same exact setup.

Also, what the db limit for the track?? I am pretty sure a properly setup 2.5" system with proper resonator and muffler (as well as ingenious exhaust outlet direction, read: point it away from the sound meter) would still pass most track db limits while still having the flow capacity to support even more power.

Not sure on fuel pressure since the mapping, it was 4.5bar. The injectors aren`t maxed out. I`d hardly cause it `unsafe`, as the fueling is perfect.

Each track varies on db limit, and tbh i`m happy with the 2.25".

Whats the duty cycle on the injectors??

At 4 bar the 259cc injectors are good for a little over 200 whp max, hence my concern.

My tuner kept an eye on the duty cycle, and it didn`t concern him, i cant say what it was though.

Wow that's pretty damn lean for high comp. Did he try to run it at 12.3-12.8? On a VE with high comp that is around the best A/F for a N/A to make power.

That a boy! Show em how its done! Replaced the only part of the RR that sucked... the pistons! WAY TO GO ROWDY!!!! I love this N chassis.

I think you would get like 2-4 hp from adding a 2.5" exhaust, al over 5000rpms... thats what i won with mi stock SR20DE, and even if you put a 3" exhaust you would win more on the top... i think that with a good quality exhaust in 3" you would be below the DB limit...

I would use SR20VE injectors i think they are 333cc, real safe for those levels...

But man, awesome numbers!!!

Jim, I like ya, this is not personal.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are you trying to use a high port engine to break 200whp, correct?

The roller rocker head is vastly superior compared to a high port, this is why I ask and was taken back a bit when I found out about your project. I hope this does not detract from the absolute praise and hope I have for your build. I wish you the best, I truly do.

On topic, excellent job. The whp with SAE will be a little bit lower. Not a bad job at all, that car would be a most excellent daily or road racer.

No problem man I appreciate the input, although I do agree the RR head is much better in stock form... I am having my highport head fully ported and polished porting the intake manifold myself and using a header built for my motor and flow number of my head.

Trust me it isn't rocket science or anything. If it couldn't be done I wouldn't be doing it. Myself, Supercowboy and Jamie Marsh all agree that it is completely possible and honestly probably with less into the motor then I am doing.

Sorry to go OT on your thread! Numbers look great!

No offense again to you personally Jimi, but all you had to say to me was Supercowboy and Jamie agreeing. Those two are a brain-trust that I would never doubt or question.

As for 191 whp on a 2.25 inch exhaust, that is simply amazing and very good to know. :biggthump
