i have a aem cai coming very soon... and today when i was washing the car i ran a little test... i took the hose and sprayed all in the wheel well, and under where the filter sits, and the front of the car... (to simulate rain).... then i opened the hood, stuck my hand down in the hole and there was a puddle of water in there!!!!! this really concerns me because the last thing i want is a wet filter, or even worse, water in the engine!! anyone ever rigged somethin up to keep water out?

Find the low spot where the water formed a puddle, and drill a couple small holes in the fender liner at that spot.

ill try that, but id prefer that the water never gets in there to begin with...:(

If you totaly block it off, you won't get any air to the filter either.

Ive driven in big-ass puddles through countless severe thunderstorms (albeit carefully). And though it scared the piss out of me, no damage what-so-ever.

I know thats not scientifically conclussive, but, eh, works for me.

Plus it would take a little thought to simulate a tire's water deflection at xMPH.

If you're that scared, rig up a quick release to the mass-air so that you can convert it to a WAI short stack in a few minutes.

I had a CAI, and the filter would get soaked every time I drive through rain. I would not worry about it, if my engine hasnt sucked up any water in FL, you will be alright :)
