the RPM gauge on my classic doesn't work anymore.... can anybody help with what may be the problem??? thanks for any help.

****** if you can get ahold of a multimeter, then figure out which pin on the guage cluster plug is the tach signal. use the meter to read the signal coming from the wiring harness (that is intended to go to the tach) IIRC it should read approx 27 mV at idle and its goes up to like 45mV near redline. ****** these number may not be completely accurate but do this test to see if your tach is any good. the local dealer said the tach couldnt be broken when i tried to get the new one...i made them order it ****** and thats what was wrong with it so........
