Hello all has anyone ever tried to clean their turbo? I am currently replacing a few blown turbo gaskets and I've noticed that my turbo is looking pretty dirty with Carbon deposits and oil I was wanting to clean up the whole thing but can't find any information on it anyway can someone please help.

if its the inside of the compressor housing what i did with mine was some GoJo (orage pumice soap) and some water and some compressed air.

Before I did my swap I broke my turbo down all the way, totally degreased it inside the center sectionwhere the oil goes and on the turbine side (exhaust) there is a steel plate right before the exhaust impellar and there was a lot of carbon deposits like little chunks of coal I removed all of them. After doing that I ran ATF through the center section and spun the turbo with a drill and proper size socket. After I was done the turbo spun very free, spun with my fingers it spun for 4-5 secs.
