What exactly do you mean by flushed?
Consider that the axle seal looks like this:
___[] hole []___ - lip
[____________] - body
Does the lip portrude out of the tranny? - where the body is at the same level as the tranny?
tranny body ______[] lip [] _________
Or should the lip be the same level as the tranny body?
Please help!

i think you mean flush not flushed. the axle seal should not protrude from the casing itself if you put hte seal in and run your hand over it you should not feel a difference in hieght
ive done it many times but as far as describing something im bad at it i hope what i said helped you somewhat if not someone else will chime in

So far there have been 2 replies and they are contradicting each other.
So which one is it?
Should the whole seal (lip included) be at the same level as the tranny body?
or
should the lip be protruding out of the tranny body where the seal body is at the same level as the tranny body?
Please help.

The outer edge (circumfrence) of the axle seal should be flush with the tranny body.

Dtyne....
So the lip of the seal (inner circumference) will be jutting out?

When i changed my seals, i made the outer edge of the seal *FLUSH* with the tranny. It was not in to far, yet it wasnt sticking out. Being *FLUSH* with the tranny will/should prevent any leaks that may occur. Try a search, This topic has come up in pretty good detail. :-)

Yes the inner edge (lip) of the axle seal will be jutting out. That is what seals it up.

Thanks Dtyne.
Already installed it. It's not leaking anymore!
Drove it around a little bit and found the tie rod end is not set up properly. Anyway, going to check it again after work to see if there is a leak or not.
It wasn't easy to drive the seal into the body flush. Luckily, my GF was around and I had her help me knock it in while I was looking at it. Hehehehehehehe....that did it.
Anyway, I'll do a write up on axle installation with more details than the ones I can find here to help others. Appreciate your help!
