I was cleaning my car up after a rally cross and found like 5 pounds of dirt and debris hidden in nooks and crannies of my NX. Here are some places to check to prevent rust and to shock and amaze yourself at how much crap can collect in there:
1) just behind the wheel wells in back part of the front fender. You can probably get an idea of what is in there by looking past the lower hinge with the door open.
to clean: put a hose in the door crack and blast it out, or take off part of the plastic in the wheel well. I could not believe the amount of dirt in there.
2) Open the back hatch and look at the top on the body side of the opening. push the plastic up. I found a lot of dirt and leaves there.
3) main engine support brace. I found a bunch of rocks and dirt in there.
4) under the plastic vent in front of the windshield. This is kind of hard to get off so be patient. Use your FSM. I found a ton of leaves under there.
