So I replaced my cam shafts 2 days ago.
When I started my car the engine sounded clanky for a sec then went away then sounded great. But, it had a hard time idling steady.
After I warmed it up a little it idles right at 850.
So I did the break in process etc etc
I drove home 30 miles and the car drove just fine. The engine was strong and fast. (i did not go over 4000 rpm)
Later, I went to take it for a drive and it had a hard time starting without a little gas. Then it started and it couldnt keep and idle. i had to give it gas to get it to warm up and even then it barely could idle. I managed to get into drive and drove and when it warmed up it idled just fine again. But when cold the idle was jumpy and very low (putting the car in reverse or drive usually made the car die)
So to my main problem. Today the car wont even start. It cranks but nothing.
I dont think it is:
Cam Timing; I checked this 100 times i had 10 chain links, perfect 12 oclock E, and perfect 10 oclock I. All on TDC #1. I manually turned the engine over back to TDC twice to make sure it stayed just right.
Could it be a bad distributor. Is it possible to have damaged the rotor or cap when i removed it?
It's weird the car started running good and progressively got worse. One would think if I really Effed up bad on the cams, it would have never ran good in the first place.
Any ideas? Im ready to burn the car.
