Today i had some free time and was going to check my timing, something i have been meaning to do ever since i bumped it up a few months ago.
so i went through all the norms and got the car warm and what not. i turned off the car and disconnected the TPS.
started the car back up and the idle was at 1500rpm. so i reved over 3grand 3 times to try to set it in timing mode. this did not help the idle was still at 1500.
so i tried to adjust with the idle screw and the lowest i could get it was 1200rpm.
What the heck is going on???? i check my TPS voltage and it was perfect!! .45 to 4.xx
i bypassed the EGR and that didn't help at all.
the car has had sort of a rough idle since i bought it but there was no problems with power.
by the way its a 93nk2k with only a pop charger on it.
i guess tomarrow i'm going to try to clean the ACC valve? or what ever that vlave thing on the pass side of the IM is.
but any help would be great!
TIA
Dan

I don't think that the car will idle normally when you have the TPS removed. I think that you did everything correctly. If you plug the TPS back in, and then restart, it should idle fine---a bit low now since you played with that screw though.

Good luck!

oh... i was under the assumption that the idle should be about 750 when the tps is disconnected, got the info from se-r.net...
but i think my problem lies in the IACV valve.
thanks a bunch for the info. now i'm going to stop worriein untill i have a free day to pull the IACV off and check it out.
thanks a bunch
