Hey all, first post.
So I got the Nissan bug. I haven't owned many cars, but I have owned a few interesting ones - an original 71 Mini done up to John Cooper works spec, 1275cc of fury. Also an 86 Toyota Corona Amon - amazing handling car, pity about the rust that prompted it's sale. Also, and inspiring my username, a Morris Marina HL - a ghastly British Leyland whale, but sharing the engine of an MGB, so it sounded beautiful.
Anyway, more recently I picked up a 96 Pulsar GTi with an SR18DE and 5spd manual in it. It's quite a fun little car, I really enjoy the responsiveness of the engine, plus it's a characterful little beastie. Driving it puts a smile on my face. It's been broken into numerous times, and a few people have tried to steal it, but it's stayed with me, so now I want to return the love a bit.
My short-term goal is to cheaply maximise the fun I can have with the current powerplant, so I'm thinking of removing the cat, and investigating what my other options for cheap upgrades are.
My medium-term goal would be to drop either an SR20VE or DET into it - preferably the former, not sure why.
Longer term I'd like to take advantage of the fact that heaps of Pulsar GTi-R's are for sale second-hand here in NZ...
I've been reading up on various FAQ's etc on this forum - this is a great resource you've all put together here. I look forward to participating in it.
