Correct me if I am wrong but, isn't the sunny 0f 1990 to1994 just like a classic. If so was it AWD and what engines did it have. If you do not have this info please tell me where I can find it.

One time i saw a classic in a japanese auto show it was a 2 door but had this hiddeous metal thing on the back window like the mustangs used to have. I will search for the picture and try to post it.

The sunny was a AWD hatch back and ran the BB SR20DET motor. Great cars! There was one for sale in japan posted in the se-r.net calssifieds that I think got purchased by a US resident.

90-94 midsize FWD/AWD sedans by Nissan where based on 2 similar chassis: N14 and B13.

Almost all mechanical parts and the undercarraige were identical between B13 and N14. The outer body parts were somewhat different.

B13s were made in 2-door and 4-door sedans as well as the NX. N14s were made (in addition to the previous) in 3-door hatchbacks and 5-door "liftbacks".

90-94 Sunnys in Japan were based on the B13 platform.
90-94 Sunnys in Europe and Oceania were based on the N14 platform.

As for the AWD Sunnys, there were 2 variations:

1. The GTi-R, based on the (RN)N14 platform with an SR20DET and a sophisticated ATTESA type AWD transmission system.
2. Various B13 and N14 AWD Sunnys using either the GA16 1.6 liter (like here in Greece) or a 1.5liter engine (this last info may be wrong but I have seen a referene to a 1.5AWD Sunny in a Japan-site). Those had a much simpler AWD system with no LSD anywhere.

Finally, if the point of the question was an initial effort to assess the possibility of modifying a Sentra with AWD mechanical parts, it is not worth the trouble and it has not been done by anyone I know off.

I was more curious about why no one ever talks about them. Mainly refering to this site.

Mainly because they were not performance-oriented cars. The AWD Sunny GTS has a 1.8L SR18DE.

There is a lot of talk about the GTi-R. Unfortunately, it was produced in very limited #s and when Nissan folded its WRC Team (well, it was not called WRC back then but you since this is how we know it now...) after only 1 year of involvement it lost its chance to become 10 years ago what WRX or EVO are now!

As for the 1.6 AWD cars, they were also extremely rare (maybe 0.5% of the production back then) and did not have any technical or performance merit.

True, but Sunny GTS and later Lucino SR18DE has 140ps (about 138hp) and require the premium gas. Regular SR18DE is only 125ps (123-4hp).

Oops, I checked this link. The GTS was a separate entity than the AWD Sunny:
