I JUST WANTED TO know if any of you guys have any suggestions or warnings. by the way does a top mount bluebird fit under the nx hood? and what clutch would you suggest? for a top mount bluebird with a (maybe) a 50 shot of nos.

the top mount fits just fine under a nx hood.

i have the act street/strip disc with the hd pressure plate. works perfect.

i originally had the act 6-puck disc and hd pp, chattered like bitch.
i ended up tearing the splines out of the disc because of such harsh engagement, so i swapped to the street/strip and i love it.

The intercooler will fit, but watch out for the master cylinder. My piping dented in my master cylinder and now my brakes are shot. Here's a pic of mine installed:

The Ac is gone as well as the PS lines (I'm still using the pump for the pulley because it can't be eliminated unless you get an eliminator kit).

As for the Master Cylinder problem, I just figured it out and haven't fixed it yet.

If you're in NYC a good guy to talk to is Henry (blueser92@aol.com) ..he's got the Blue classic with GTIR ... Redman007 knows alot on the subject as well....

Henry and Dave (DeadSerious ..rich was there to clean up the dirty parts I missed) helped me put in the bb DET into my NX ..I haven't put the car on the road cause I'm still waiting for other things and its a project car for the winter ...I'm in no rush ..put the motor in ...started her up and ran her for a while ... I'm told the hood *should* close with the top mount on our cars but my hood is still off.

Loe Lyf is definitely a good resource as I've read many of his posts to this forum. Also read all the stickies in the turbo forum.
while you have the motor out change all of the motor mount bushings.

Thanks for the props. I help when I can. As for the hood, it will close, but not if you just drop it. You have to push it closed.

No hood scoop? don't you need more air flow to your intercooler?

LONEWOLF

im working on that now. its just i spend so much money getting parts for the swap. i may just get the hood scoop in feb-mar. its cold upstate so im not worring about heat and the lack of air. hopefully i have my 240 to drive in the meantime.

I'm front-mounting it over the winter while it's put away.

Oh ok cool. Are you going to get a new front body kit to allow more air to the IC? I've seen some hack jobs on NXs but they cover up most of the IC.
