okay, I think this has got to be the dumbest thing. maybe I just don't understand how it works.

I actually saw a guy on the net with a miata that did something similiar to this to increase the fuel for a sebring super charger. He used a pressure sensor and a resistor to increase the fuel when under boost, using the coolant temp sensor.

I was going to look into some thing like this to add fuel for a bored MAF. right now I have a slightly bored MAF but I want to bore it out more and add a Bored TB. I'm not about to try it yet but I'm looking into it. I may experiment with something like this.

huh, that's funny stuff! IIRC, the air temp sensor isn't even used in the operation of the car. It's only used for diagnostics or something.

I belive if the air is colder it is dencer and requires more fuel to run a proper ratio. Maybe in the Mazda it is in more control of the tuning then our cars? I'm not really sure, but he claimed it richened it up. As far a diagnostics why have it to diagnose if it can't be used to correct? every thing that is used to tell the computer that something is wrong will also be used to tell it to correct. If not then it doesn't matter what is wrong because it wouldn't have the ability to make a change to correct it.
None of this is based on any facts just my opinion.

whoever goes to the dyno next needs to put thier temp sensor in a bucket of ice and see if you gain anything...LOL

after reading that. I think the miatas temp sensor does the same thing that most MAFS do...

It's only dumb because the electronic part required for that mod can be had for pocket change at radio shack. Other than that there's nothing dumb about it. Just because some car's temp sensors have little impact on the ECU doesn't mean that it's true for all cars. This is a pretty common mod among other cars and it does work. In fact, sometimes it increases horespower as much as or more than our CAI's do. Nothing dumb about a 5+ HP gain for under $2. Granted, it won't work on our cars, but you might own a car that it will work on at some point.

Nissan 200SX Intake Sensor Mod +15HP!!!

see it's okay if it works in other cars. but this is for OURS. and it gets "+15hp"

I wonder if you could do the same thing for the MAF
