I'm really interested in an NA RWD SR.

If I were to obtain a standard RWD DET engine, could I just swap some higher compression pistons in it and re-tune the ECU for the compression change and lack of turbo?

Can I use any SR piston in this application as long as calculations are made for the correct compression ratio and what not? (Like USDM FWD SR)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yep, you sure could.

Basically, you have 4 pistons to choose from:
8.3:1 GTi-R (dished)
8.5:1 common DET (dished)
9.5:1 common DE (minor dished)
10:1 euro/jdm FWD DE and S14 RWD DE (completely flat)

Now, I could be wrong, but the GTi-R might not be a direct fit, they changed a lot of things on that engine (journal sizes, maybe wrist pin, etc).
However, I do know the other pistons will interchange with out modification, with one exception: The oil jets.
The DE pistons (9.5:1 and 10:1) aren't notched for the oil jets that are found on the DET blocks, so either the piston skirts will need to be modified or the jets need to be removed.

Any Sentra SR20DE piston will fit (with possable exception to the real last model roller-rocker engines), and are all 9.5:1.
For the flat top pistons, you'll be looking for ones out of a euro/JDM FWD DE (not sure on models) or RWD S14 SR20DE.

Thank you! This is the exact information I was looking for. I appreciate it.

I just realized my title says "SR20DER, haha.
