Well I took some pics of it but I dont know how to post them. Anyway I found a nice surprise when I took out my clutch. I found that the clutch disc itself was cracked at one of the springs and that the spring itself had popped out. Thats not all though all the springs had been rubbing the crank bolts also. I have concluded that Centerforce basically sux from what I have experienced.

yup, i heard the same thing. when i was looking, i was staying FAR away from CF. Yet, some guys run them with NO problems! maybe its in the install? who knows, i know it will never find its way into my car...

I had a CF on my 97 prelude for 30k, the last 5k of that was with nitrous, a 55 shot. It grabbed the whole time. Then I sold the car, and the engine blew a month later. This is the first that I have heard of problems with CF, but I would stick with ACT.

I had a CF clutch in my 95 Max Se and my other 91 Se-r and had no problems and thought it grabbed pretty damn good. To be honest I plan on getting another one for my current 91 Se-r. Well, plus they offer them from Nissan Motorsports and I get hooked up working for a Nissan Dealership. 90% stronger over stock seems better than, what, 42%(ACT) over stock. I guess I just have had good luck.

Yeah i heard the same thing about CF it must be in the install, er maybe they didn't machine the flywheel or sumthing. I got a clutchmasters stage 1 ready for install, i'm just waiting until i get my fidanza flywheel and pullies. Then my engine should be at max ( to me anyway)

I'm kinda biased against Centerforce clutches also. Have seen them fail many times on SE-R's, even stock ones. Went with Clutch Masters and been good to go ever since. You should be very happy with the clutch/flywheel combo you plan to install, Gearhead.

Interesting... I haven't heard anything but bad reviews on Centerforce clutches FOR SE-R's.... When my bro told me that he just got a CF clutch for his 240SX I was like WHAT?!?! ARE U CRAZY?! But he said that he asked at least 10 other 240SX owners and they were all recommended Centerforce.... sooo maybe they are good for *some* cars... I just think the whole thing with those little weights in the center is well... ghetto and along the same lines as Splitfire spark plugs and those Tornado "Superchargers" that lost HP when dynoed lol...

ummm you said that the springs on your clutch were rubbing the crank bolts, thats mite be why it broke i think you mite have put your clutch plate on backwards lots of people do it. thats the only way the springs can rub your crank bolts

I think the Centerforce problems stem from people who abuse their cars, or it wasn't installed properly. :)

My old '92 SE-R had over 200 drag strip passes on the same Centerforce clutch. Plus a few autocrosses and a couple open-track days. The clutch had almost 70,000 miles on it before I wrecked the car.

My old '93 SE-R had about 50 drag strip passes, tons of road course time, tons of autocross time (including two drivers over a season of Pro Solos), and more than 70,000 miles, all on a Centerforce clutch. Changed the clutch last year when I had a Quaife installed.

My racecar would have had a Centerforce clutch except the shop that installed the Quaife could get JWT stuff at a good price. I actually bought the clutch to have installed but ended up using it as partial payment for renting Rosen Autosport's black raSEcaR for a weekend.

HAHAHAHA, i hate ACT!!!!!!

Seriously though, i switched to clutch.net and love it. No extra pedaly effort and it grabs like a mofo.
