Hey guys, I was wondering if the infinity had/has an SR20DE? If so are there transmissions different from the NX tranny's? And also I was wondering what parts from all the Nissan cars will fit or go with a 93 NX? THX FOR ALL THE HELP:D

A G20 has the SR20DE in it. The tranny will fit, although I'm led to believe that the trans in it has longer gear ratios. Don't hold me to that.

BTW, its INFINTI, not Infinity. ;)

Yup, the trannies are identical. Only difference is years. The '93 NX2000 has a electronic speedo as does the '94 (?) and newer G20. The older trannies are cable driven speedo's. The G20 does have longer 1st, 3rd, 4th, & 5th gears. Here is the comparo:

Gear..........NX2000........G20
1st.............3.333...........3.063
2nd............1.826...........1.826
3rd.............1.286...........1.207
4th.............0.975...........0.926
5th.............0.756...........0.733
Final...........4.176:1........4.058:1

The G20 tranny would be better for a Turbo due to the longer gears, where the NX tranny would be best as is on a NA.

I was considering swapping a LSD NX tranny into my G20 to get the shorter gears as well as the LSD. Have not gotten around to it and don't have the $$$ to do it.

To add to this:

Just about every engine modification and/or stock engine parts are swappable between the NX2000, G20, SE-R, SE-L, SE SR20 powered cars.

Differences would be CAI, Turbo intercooler tubing, etc. Anything that deals with passing the mods through the body of the cars.

the g20 didn't come with lsd? and since the gear ratios are longer on the g20 would it be cheaper just to buy a g20 tranny or swap in the gears from the nx2000 (going turbo)

It was an option '91-'93 and then was only available in '94-'96 on the Touring edition. Some have said that is was an option '94-'96 on the non-touring, but I have yet to see a brochure with it as a listed option.

Mine is not the G20t, and it's a '96, so I ain't got no stinking LSD. :(

I would opt for a tranny swap. Much less hassle. No need to tear apart the casing. And to buy seperate gears would probably cost way more than buying a good used tranny.

What year G20 did those gear ratios come from? The gear ratios I had which was for a 91 G20 all the ratios were the same except 3rd and 4th. 5th was the same, and so was 1st.

Well, when www.g20.net was up and running as a website before it became a 100% forum only, they had the specs on the P10 and the P11 tranny. That is where I got the initial #'s, but I also found a Nissan Corp site that listed them as well. But I can not find that damn site now. I'll keep looking for it.
