My starter went in my SE-R last night and I need to switch it out. I lent my repair manual to a friend so could a kind knowlegeable person run through the steps of removing/installing the starter on a B13 and the approximate time/work involved. Truthfully I am not really sure where it is, I took off my airbox and expected to be staring at it (maybe I am) but cant seem to locate it.
Thank-you

30 minutes to remove and install. Well at least thats what it took me and my friend to pull mine this week. If you have a CAI its even easier to get access to the two bolts. Just get under the car and remove wire and pull out and put new one back in.

It could take you an hour but its not too bad though.

Good luck

You'll need a swivel socket head 14MM and a 12 inch extensions or longer if need be.

Get underneath the car and locate the starter above your half shaft right in the middle of your car. Undo the wires from the posts after you disconnect your battery of course. There is also a little harness thing to unsnap. Then go back up top and locate the two bolts holding it on. It is kinda hard to see them but they are long bolts that appear to be bell housing bolts. They are a bitch to get at but are much harder on an automatic (I had to do both) It is tight getting at the bolts but just be patient and they will come out no problem. Simply place the other one in position and have a friend start the bolts for you. Then its just reversal of the removal process.

Disconnect the battery first. You'll fry a fuse or yourself if your not careful.
