i bought a 93 b13 a month ago, supposedly this car was ''turbo'' ready and had a g20 tranny swap. turns out its got the stock b13 ser transmission, but i noticed a pcv type hose on the bottom of the block with a lug nut shoved in it and clamped off... so i figured this car was turboed at one point and returned to n/a state. so this is obviously a det block, but the head i believe is a de head. the det valve covers are red right? why would someone put a de head on a det block?? not sure what route to take with this car i want to do a nice n/a set up and eventually do a ve swap, but if this thing has a det bottom end turboing if from this point out shouldnt be to hard. there is also no egr on this manifold?? is that because det's didnt have egr? im just trying to peice together what the last guy had going on with this car.

Take a look at the passenger side axle carrier bracket, which has provisions for 3 bolts. DE blocks have 3 matching holes for those bolts, whereas DET engines only have 2. DET's also have an air-to-oil oil cooler integral to the oil filter housing.
What color are those injectors under the grime? Grey is 370cc, which is stock DET. Red is 259cc, which would be DE.
It's possible you just have a DE with a JDM intake manifold, that had the oil return drilled and tapped, then capped off after the turbo was removed. But the number of bolts in the axle carrier should be a definite indicator whether it's a factory turbo engine or not.

Yup 3 bolts holding the pass. Side axle to the block. So it's just a Jdm sr that someone turbo'd and remove. Thanks for the help clearing that up !

still one more mystery if you dont mind chris, every where i go to buy belts for this thing they give me a 4 rib belt. the alternator and crank pulley have 6 ribs. the power steering belt is correct but not the alternator. a/c has been deleted but they list options for that... got any clues?

Assuming you have stock size pulleys, get NAPA 25-060331
