Hi guys, have a question.
What do you use for your turbo oil drain hose? The one mine came with from FMax is already dry rotting, cracking, and slightly leaking...after only 9-10 months of being installed.
Nissan fuel lines are the highest quality lines I have ever seen. They seem to last forever whereas hoses from NAPA, Autozone, Advance Auto, Carquest and Discount Auto dry rot very quickly in my region of the country. I have tried all these on my other vehicles.
With that said I wonder if the Nissan BB, GTi-R, and Z32TT hoses are of this same durability. I wonder if the Z32 line is the same size and if a replacement would be long enough for my application.

Thomas,
For this very reason, I use steel braided line for my oil return hose. I have my steel braided oil return hose sitting in my garage right now. I would be happy to duplicate it for you and send you all of the necessary fittings. PM me or e-mail me at jwhitely2000@yahoo.com if you want me to do this for you.

I second the aeroquip blue hose. Here are the spec's for the hose. Cost's around $3- 4 a foot.
Performance & Dimensions
Temperature range -49°C to +150°C. 250psi(18bar) working 1000psi(70bar) burst pressure.

Are you guys talking about the socketless hoses? If so which size are you using and where are you buying it from online?
Do you guys use clamps on yours with these? (the aeroquip website states not to use clamps but I would)

yeah where are you guys getting it from and I would also imagine it would be a good idea in using hoseclamps, its to big a risk. This seems to be a much cheaper alternative to a stealbraided line....

u dont need to use hoseclamps with the aeroquip hose if u use the proper barbed AN fittings. once the hose is placed on the barbs it is nearly impossible to remove without a knife of some sort. the aeroquip is cheaper, however, it is not as abrasion resistant as the stainless line. keep this in mind if u dont have much room for the install. also, it doesnt cut up ur finger tips like the stainless line. here's a pic of the hose up close so u know what to look for when buying it.

RoadRaceEngineering, and I believe SR20Development told me that silicone hose is good for handling the high temps coming off the turbo. The Aeroquip stuff looks like a good solution. The drain hose on my Gti-R engine has a metal sleeve that fits around it to protect it from the heat. It appears to be black silicone, but it could just be high temp rubber. It's lasting pretty well considering how old the engine is, but of course I have no idea if it is the stock Nissan hose or aftermarket.

The Aeroquip looks to be a very good solution. The only thing that bothers me is that I would not be using Aeroquip fittings because they don't make a solution for the turbo side, so I wonder if the barbed fittings I have are adequate to 'bite' the hose. Otherwise I will use clamps.
Where do you guys buy the Aeroqiup hose?
