Take out the pulley bolts, then you can get to the bolts that hold it on, once you remove those bolts pull it off. Use some sort of sealant around the housing and reverse process. If anything I am not thinking of someone chime in.

you want to take the plastic off in the wheel well, then you have a direct shot at the pump, pull the pulley off(may take some force), then all the bolts that hold it on, clean off the gasket, put a new one on, put all bolts and the pulley on by what it says in the manual

Ok here is the probles we are having :(

We took of the plastic part but cant get the engine mount off and we cant get any wrenches to get down there to loosen them up. And there is not enoucg room to get the fuel pump off from the bottom :(

I really dont want to remove my oil filter cause i just had my oil changers 2 days ago :(

fuel pump??...did i miss something here......ok, look, this is what you gotta do (im assuming you have a 91 classic sr20) first off your ***** need tools....a jack atleast, get a piece of wood the width of the oil pan.

first your ***** set yourself up, take your scissor jack and piece of wood, get on the floor...(see where im goin with this) and place the wood between the jack and your oil pan...get the jack adjusted all the way up till its supporting the wood piece and oil pan just snugly.

next your ***** go after the passenger mount, but before that, remove your coolant reservoir and the plastic seat it sits in with a 10mm...this makes a world of difference to get at the mount.

now you can do this a couple different ways but all i did was removed that 1 long bolt that goes through the mount and that allowed me to jack that side up enough to get more clearance to the waterpump. youll see it once you remove that reservoir.

next your ***** remove the powersteering reservoir, be prepare with rags and maybe a pan underneath....will be messy, unless you have a turkey baster around your house that you could use to suck all the fluid out of the power steering reservoir before hand....

now after youve jacked that side up, ( and removed that powersteering obstruction) theres this kindof trick that works real well for gettin those four 10mm bolts out of the waterpump pulley.....grab yourself two 10mm wrenches, place them parallel almost side by side on two of the bolts so that when you squeeze them together youll get one loosened enough......repeat process until you get them all out.

now once theyre loosened, you can just take the actual pulley itself off along with the belt to give you clearance to the pump bolts...cant remember but i think theyre 7 12mm bolts that go into it. start werking at them...this will be the most time consuming....atleast i found it that way.......

when you get to the point youve got them all out CELEBRATE, grab yourself a beer and marvel at how far youve gotten :D

.....after your break, the pump should now be able to be removed, may have to tap it a few times for it to give but it should release fairly easily, once released....jimmy it out of there somehow..depending on how much jacking youve done (:p ) this is key to how much room you will have and how much harder it will be for yah BUT REMEMBER YOUR OIL PAN IS NOT MEANT TO BE A SUPPORT....keep an eye on how you oil pan is doing everytime you lift it even a little bit, make sure that the wood is spread evenly enough to cover most of the surface of the pan...NO PART OF THE JACK SHOULD BE TOUCHING BARE OIL PAN..no metal to metal contact between those 2.

ok...now where were we...ok squeeze the pump out of there, and then try to clean what you can of the old sealant crap, nissan is known to use the blue RTV, get yourself some grey or even copper RTV silicone before hand, (i used copper, good shit).

take the new pump and line it with the rtv you have, replace.....and what can i say, make sure you hold it there and hand tighten in a couple of bolts immediatly, that way it dries lined up and not fucked wise... wait a bit then just do everything in reverse to put it back and YOUR DONE! :D

(ps. make sure before hand that youve drained your coolant, if not your ***** get a surprise half way through. )

(also..i keep remembering more, when your taking the bolts out of the pump, keep track of which ones go where, they are NOT all the same, there are two of them that are longer, and probably for a reason.....just remember...youll see what i mean)
