when my nx was running, third gear seemed to pull harder than it did in my 200 se-r. why? i know the ratios are diff. b/c the nx r/l's @ 7500 vs 7100 rpm.

to my knowledge, they are the same, except one has an electic speedo and the other is mechanical? i think, or something like that..

Gear ratios have nothing to do with engine redline. The ECU controls the redline. The gear ratios are the same for the Sentra,NX, and 200SX that had the SR20. The G20 had different ratios though.

the difference may be in the diameter of the tires, since this would change final gear ratio.

oh ok. whoops! My nx wheels are slightly smaller than my 200 wheels i think. the nx has 185/60 14's and the se-r has 205/55 15's. the series (I.e. 55, 60) is a percentage of something right? i cant remeber if it's tire width or rim height...or something else.

It is a % of the tire width.

someone posted differences of the tranny housing in a thread not to long ago. it showed where they reinforced the housing.
