I'm getting a BBDET in a couple of days and i'm wondering why the downpipe that works on any BBDET for a SE-R will not work on my G20. Everybody says they won't fit but i don't see why it won't. All the headers are universal so why wouldn't the downpipe be also. Any guesses?

The downpipe I got from Hotshot performance fit perfectly on my 92 G20 with the BBDET and I think this is exactly the same downpipe made for the SE-R SR20DET kit.

Who fed you that line? Why wouldn't an SE-R downpipe fit a G?

I remember people saying that a downpipe for a se-r will not work on a g20. I want to buy a good three inch downpipe manderal but not the one from JGY thats reduction bent. Which seem to be the only other option.

Again, who said this? I seem to recall somebody with a JGY downpipe that didn't fit, but that was because of a broken motor mount, not because of platform incompatibility. Time and time and time again, it's been stated that you can get a 3", mandrel-bent pipe from Hot Shot. Some seem to think that it goes down to 2.5" at the cat end, but that only makes sense because the stock cat is also 2.5"

Other question, why the hell are our downpipes so expensive, Cheapest i've found for a 3" mandral is $320. Thats pretty rediculous if you ask me. This swap is becoming more and more popular but the prices for nissans stay sky high, whats the deal?

Just go to a mufler shop and get crush bent 3 inch, the bends on a 3inch I heard arent that bad since 3 inch is huge, somebody posted this on a catback exhaust I'll see if I can find it.
