Haven't posted a message here in a while, although read many of the posts....

I have NX-R Sr20de with approx. 130,000Kms on the dial. I have been tossing up the idea of either

a) Selling the NXr and buying a S14 200sx series 2 (gotta love that aggressive front and of course the sr20det)
b) Replacing the NXR sr20 with a Blacktop Sr20det.

Seeing as I love the handling and brute torque of the NX - I am swaying more to part b.

Where I live, there is a relatively few number of NX's that have any modifications done to them, so I guessing dropping a SR20DET into her will be a real street sleeper.

A friend of a friend has imported from Japan (I'm in Australia) a heap of half cuts/engines etc and I'm getting him to source me out a suitable engine. For a good price, I am most certainly going to do it.

If I do decide on Part b) I will be documenting the project and making it available to anyone that’s thinking of doing the same swap.

NX's are sweet. Turbo's rock. That's all you need to know. Turbo + NX = SweetRock. :D

you may not even have to swap the motor out, 130 000 km, that's nothing, throw a T28 on that and fly....

Blacktop DET is for RWD Silvias and will be a problem to install. The gti-r engine is probably the highest power turbo engine you can get for FWD besides the SR20VET which is I think is very hard to find.

Turbo seems to be the easiest way to go though.
