OK, I know that this topic has been beat to death already but I'm gonna ask anyway. I am in the market for wheels and tires for my NX. I need to buy soon as I have four different tires with four different leaks.....I have decided on a 16" combo but this is the deal...NTB is having a sale on Motegi wheels, they look good and are pretty affordable, but in the book it says that they are a 42mm offset. The salesman says that they should fit no problem, the forum says I need 38mm to 40mm offset, does the salesman know what he is talking about or what..I also plan to lower the car with Eibach pro kit and AGX's, does lowering the car cause clearance problems, if anyone can help me out please because I'm gettin ready to sink about a grand on wheels and tires and I don't need any more problems than I already have....Thanks

ps. if anyone has pics of this combo on their car please let me know........

It may work but it is gonna suck because the offset is too high. It will tuck into the fenders too much. I have 40mm offset 16's and the rears to me look like they need spacers. Do yourself a favor, get 38mm. It is a nice compromise between looks w/o rolling the fender.

I would follow Pretty White's advice.

You have a 50% probability of having problems with a 42mm offset IF the wheels are actually 16x6.5 inches. If they are 16x7 then you have a 95% probability of hitting the struts on the inside of the back wheels (up front you should not have a problem).

My "guess" is that if you plan on having 16x7s you should indeed go to a MAXIMUM of 38mm and sasfer yet 32-35mm.

I currently have a 42mm offset on my 16x7" rims and the rears come close to the struts but it doesnt hit. The front sits very nicely. I am prob. gonna get spacers for the rears just so they arent inside so much.
