thats good man.. guess you were lucky. when i got in an accident there wasnt too much damage..

but the body shop said that most of the time when the nx gets into accidents its totaled. i dunno if thats true

wouldn't it be better if it crumbled up? dun companys design for it to crumble up so it absorbs the impact, leaving the interior cabin safer?

My NX was totaled (it probably crumbled) but who ever bought it fixed it, put it on a frame machine. It looks fine, seems to drive fine(I have only had it for about a week and a half). There is a nice deep scratch on the hood, but a nice new purdy carbon fiber hood will fix that :D

You gotta remember... the NX was limited, you can only get parts from nissan, and its 10+ years old. To the insurance company its work 2500-3000, you go and smash your front end look at it like this...

Headlight from the dealer -??? but I'm sure over $150
Front bumper cover - $175
Bumper support - $150
All the damn brackets that hold the bumper cover and spoiler together, $300!!!!!!!!
Front spoiler - $450!!!!!!

By the time you add paint and labor to that the insurance company says fuggidabout it.

Sad, but true :-(

I've saved two NX'n from the junk yard that where hit in front. One was pretty major, but no frame damage, just fenders/hood/headlights/whole front end lol...
The other was minor, hitting a fence post at 5mph, BUT its those damn metal brackets all over the front end that suck, those things are expensive!

yeah mine had a lil frame damage in the front right corner... and then the bumber, front spoiler, fender got damaged, they replaced my foglight that was already broken, and fixed the hood *** it got bent in a lil..
that was $3000 for the insurance company

they fixed up my front spoiler that had all these scratches and shit from whoever owned it before running into curbs and stuff i guess. :)

My egg was totalled twice. Once on the side (actually Geico came up with $3900 to fix and were willing to pay it with a $4500 value) back in 98. The other guys insurance company payed for it and took $600 for me to buy it back. No salvage title.

Then it got hit in front and was tatalled a second time. Got that fixed. These MOFOS are strong. Well I should not say totalled. Cause it was only totalled for the year. It these accidents happened back in say 92, it would have been fixed no problem.

yeah...its hard to crack an egg...but if you do it's pretty much gonna be totalled...
some civic backed up into me and his batmobile-ish bumper was destroyed...but the only damage to my egg was a warped license plate!
:D
however, i've seen some NX's at the wreckers that look like they've been in some small hits but were condsidered too expensive to fix by insurance...
i guess it's worth while to pickup a parts car.....

Good to hear others have had the same experience! I had my NX for about 3 weeks when I was distracted in traffic and rear ended a honda shuttle.
Me - warped no. plate, and cracked indicator.
Honda - couldn't open the back passenger doors let alone the hatch.
Totally my fault and sorted by insurance but damn I never saw such difference in impacts!
