this 92 se-r i have here with the gti-r swap has a bov vented to atmosphere.... i know this cant be good on a maf set up(metered air)all of the sr20det motors i have seen and worked on have been recirculated.... i know this is causing a problem but, will it make the car not pull over 5 k and bucking,studdering????

I haven't experienced it but That is a common symptom of a Mass Air flow Sensor. My VW did it then i realized the MAF was broke. OOPs. The air needs to be metered.

It's possible that the blow off valve may be leaking the metered air when the boost starts to build. This will send the car into a rich condition, which it sounds like you may be experiencing. To check if this is happening, try and plug the outlet of the BOV with a cap or something similiar and take the car for a quick drive and get into boost. If it seems to have been corrected, that may be the problem. Recirculating it will help some, but will still limit the boost your building if the BOV is opening when it shouldn't.
