If I bore our stock maf we dont need to re-program the ecu, but with a totaly new maf we need to re-program the ecu!
wont the ecu be off with both? or is it just more with a 300zxTT one? since the ecu if off so much with a 300zx one u need a ecu re-program?
so with a small increase (boring) u just compensate something?

what mods do you have on your car?
the MAF is not really considered a big flow impediment and does not really need to be replaced unless your are running turbo

Are you talking about a stock 1.6 maf? I see thats what you have in your sig. They are plastic, I have one sitting right here. 95-98

my maf is metal (b13 sentra)
I know i wont get big gains, i will only see a small increase but EVERYTHING adds up.
so why can some bore it out and not upgrade the ecu?
but if i want to replace mine with a different one, I need to upgrade the ecu!
Whats up?

If the hole in the MAF sensor does not impede air flow then why do you need a 3inch CAI when the hole in the MAF is only around 2 inches. Saying it does not impede air flow is rediculous. I slightly bored my MAF with a high polish inside and felt a more then noticable difference. I would love to use a 2000 sentra MAF that has at least a 2.5" hole. And ask yourself Why nissan changed to a larger MAF if there is no difference. And anybody that doesn't want a small increase in HP compared to no increase should quit trying to modify there car because they are not trying to get the most out of it. Every little bit adds up.
