IS IT BETTER TO HAVE THE ENGINE HOT OR COLD WHEN REPLACING THE OXYGEN SENSOR?

I wait about 15 min after having the car running. Then spray it liberally with a penatrating fluid. I wear mechnix gloves but ti is not that hot. As always YMMV momma always said not to touch the stove right. Why? Cause it's damn hot.
