I have a vibration that is pissing me off in the front of my car. From what i can tell is that my front wheel bearings are good and they arent making any noise. I've have taken my 17's off for the winter and put my stock 14's on(after balancing them) and it still has a very bad vibration. It comes and goes with speed. Very noticable around 68-70 and comes back around 80ish. I feel the vibration mostly in the steering wheel and a little in the pedel. I also notice that when in first gear i can feel it when accelerating heavy. I'm guessing that its the pass side axle and carrier bearing. What does everyone think??

Interesting. I have the same issue but the vibration at speed isn't horrible. I also have new raxle axles in place. I think that mine is associated with motor mounts---expecially the part about it occuring under heavy acceleration. That bugs me b/c I just poured urethane in them about 800 miles ago and it's already cracking out of one of the mounts. The vibe at speed is caused by a need for balance, in my opinion.
Let me know what you determine.

I don't think it's your axle bearing. If it were that, you would feel the vibe ALL the time. Crawl under there and see if it's bent or dented any. I honestly think that the place that balanced your tires did a bad job. On my old Maxima, I had to have my aftermarket rims balanced 7 times before they got it right. Even then, it only lasted 10,000 miles. Oh yea, they weren't cheap rims either---they were Borbet's.
There are two ways to balance---spin balance and under a load. There is a machine called the ROADFORCE by Hunter that spins your tire under a load that your car would create. Based on that, they apply stick on weights and are done. That's what they had to do to mine to get it to work correctly.
Good luck!
