: Who else has 72lb injectors?

I just got done putting in my 72-lb injectors, and they run horrible. My idle is rough and jumpy, and if I hold the car at any certain rpm's, it runs rough and jumps around. Anyone else have any idea what might be wrong? Also, it feels like the car is misfiring under 3k rpms, but then it runs fine above that (maybe has to do with WOT?) Anyways, any help?

what are you using to control the big injectors, do you have an afc, or jim wolf ecu, otherise your probably running really really rich!!

First, are you running the stock ignition? If so it might not have enough spark to ignite that much fuel. Second, reduce your spark plug and see if it goes away.

Yeah...........with that size off injector you need JWT, ain't no SAFC gonna tune those bad boys down at lower engine rpms thats why your car runs better when your on it because more fuel is needed then and not wasted.

I would say you need 72lb/hr JWT ECU program and a SAFC to correct JWTs program even more lean it out further.

Well, FWIW my car idles and drives like a normal SE-R. I have the JWT "Shaggy" program, Cobra MAF & JWT S3's. Stock ignition for now. You can't tell the idle or drivability is any different than a stock SE-R.

So your making around 400+whp with those injectors, when can we expect to see you in SCC Magazine. ;) ?

I'm using a JWT ECU. I also have S3's and a Z32 maf. The ECU is programmed for all of these things, or so I'm told. It runs especially horrible when the car is cold, and always feels like misfiring below about 3k rpm.

It's going to be used with a 3037, but I'm not putting that turbo on until I get the damn fuel system running right.

Nic - I leave on a mission in 2 weeks:) I'll send you an e-mail though

I'll try closing the gap or maybe new spark plugs later today...other than that, any more ideas? This sucks having my car run so bad

Did u ever find out your problem? I seem to be havin the same issues. Its very frustrating. Surging idle when halfway warm and runing rich. Fuel pressur3 was at 43.5 static but i dialed it down to 41 runs a little better. idle is crazy , tps, iac and air regulator fixes dont do anything. yes timing to.

sounds like your TPS is off, you have a major vacuum leak, or your Fuel pressure is off. also, check the wiring on your MAF.

TPS or vacuum sounds like the culprit to me as well. Check the TPS voltage, then the MAF voltage. If those don't get it, look for vacuum leaks or leaks around the maf

this may sound dumb, but do you have the resistors in there? Also, check for a messed up injector wire or one that has borken at the resistor. It happened on one of our racecars and was almost impossible to diagnose because it broke inside the tape/insulation.
