But the thread is kind of big so I thought I would just get to the point. I had my car up on stands today trying to troubleshoot where my problem was coming from. I believe the entire problem stemmed from my driver's side axle. When the wheel turns I can actually see the axle pop out of the input shaft (I'm guessing that's what it's called.) When it does it clunks. As best as I can figure the circlip on the end of the axle is trashed, and something is wrong with the axle joint to make it pull in and out like it is. Does this sound right? TIA

Basically the axle is bad. The bearings inside the joint are probably worn, your going to have to replace the axle. easy job, should take about 15 minutes.

That's what I figured. I'm just on a very strict spending regiment, and I don't want to go out and buy unneeded parts.
