: might get a 91' se-r

im looking into buying a white 91' se-r with 128,000 miles on it. the milage seemed a little too much for me, but it already has new intake headers, and exhaust. the guy lives about 3 hours away, but they sent me some pictures and i didnt see any rust, and the interior looks great, only problem is the a/c is kinda screwed up but i dont think it'd be hard to fix. do you think $3,500 is worth it?

Check the Plain Dealer Classifieds. I saw a '92 w/ 91000 miles for less than $3000. Don't know if it's still there. $3500 seems high for the 128K miles. Just my 2 cents.

well, I got my '94 SE-R for $3,000. It had 126,000 miles on it. A/C worked though and it was practically in mint condition.
I love it to death!!!

The guy probably knows how rare a find a Sentra SE-R is. That'd probably be the reason for such a high price for the age and mileage. I know if I sold my '93 SE-R tomorrow, I'd ask $6,500 for it (83,000 miles, 5-speed, ABS, new clutch, new CV joints, new header pipe and cat-back pipe). Book value is approx. $5,430.

I paid $2500 for a clean 91 white classic here in Tx with 147,000 miles on it. They're rare and I would have paid more for the right car (I would've paid more for the one I did buy also). I'm very happy with this car - and it replaced my modified 92 Miata with only 56,000 miles on it. Sold the Miata sight unseen for $7300 to buyer in New Jersey thru web - site ads on Miata net and Excite: http://classifieds.excite.com/cgi-cls/ad.exe?P1+C14+A0+R1160985+Q356057502 and photo link http://community.webshots.com/user/ac7880 (note the white SER in the background). My point is the classic SER is great even replacing a low mileage, modified sports car. Find a good SER to meet your needs and go for it. Offer him $700 less due to the AC problems and maybe settle for $500 less??

Best of luck on this one or the next one.
Dan in Tx
