ok, as most of you know, my sentra se-r was punted by a moron and the insuarance totalled it out (it had 6100 bucks damage). we bought it back, and with some of the insurance money i bought a 1988 toyota celica gt-s to put around in. the car is in incredible shape and i could easily get rid of it for 3500-4000.

here's my project:

i found a se-r for sale in washington with a engine that has a thrown rod, and a tranny that has the pop-out problem. i was thinking of picking it up for cheap, and then getting a used g20 engine that hopefully comes with a tranny.

my help:

as far as getting a engine, what should i look for?

if i get the g20 engine, will it fit, without and modifications, into the se-r's engine bay?

is the g20 transmission the same as the se-r's or what?

anything else!

thanks in advance..

check ebay there are a couple of se-r's on there going for cheap with very little problems with them.

i've always heard a g20 engine is pushing a little more power, and i've seen 'em for the same price as a se-r's engine.

as far as ebay goes, i'm weary. i've heard so many stories of assholes taking money and running that it makes me uncomfortable.

the g20 engine will be fine but if u get the jap spec one it comes with 150hp with the exhaust manifold and the higher comp...but the tranny wont fit *** it uses different axles than the se-r at least from what ive have seen...also make sure the g20 tranny has lsd.
