: 17" or 18" wheels???
Mr Clean 07-02-2001, 08:50 PM Has anybody been able to put 18x7 on a classic? Did you roll the fenders and what offset did you get? I am planning on 17x7 with 40mm offset with 205/40 17 tires. Will this work? I am not worried about ride as I don't plan on driving the car much, it is just for show. However I don't want any rubbing and I don't want to roll the fenders. Currently I have 16x7 40mm offset with 205/40 16 and they are a perfect fit.
Thanks in advance!!!

Mr Clean 07-05-2001, 09:58 PM Wow, Nobody here has done a 17" wheel on a classic??? I can understand not going 18" for practical reasons but a 17???

Louis Anaya (aka APEXSER) is the only member on the boards that comes to mind. He's run a set or two of 17" rims:

That alone proves that 17's will fit a B13 Sentra with careful fitting. I image a pretty low offset and maybe even spacers might be needed on some rims, though.
18's? No one has run 18's on a Classic that I know of. If it's even possible, it would be a ridiculously right fit. Then again, I could be surprised. Some enterprising showman might have been crazy enough to do it.
Storm88000 07-05-2001, 11:35 PM I Saw 18's on a classic. It was a 91-92 SE-R at a show at Englishtown. They were chrome too, with 215/35 series tires.

94_REDSE-R 07-06-2001, 11:37 AM Classics shouldnt be on 18s!!!!
just my opinion.
I prefer 15s or 16s.
Then again Im on a mission everywhere I go.

TurbochargedSER 07-06-2001, 01:58 PM I have had 9 sets of different 17" wheels on my car! I still have a set of 17x7 Tenzo Shu-4's +42 offset with 205/40/17 tires. I have tried 18x7 +38 offset Axis Touring Cups w/ 215/35/18 tires but the rubbed the strut. I like bigger wheels and would like to get another set of 18's but you would have to get something like the Motivational one piece coil over strut assembly in orde for them to work. I was also thinking about cutting my AGX Spring perches off since I don't need them with coil overs.

Mr Clean 07-06-2001, 10:07 PM Thanks Louis! Nice car! Does your 17x7 Tenzo Shu-4's +42 offset with 205/40/17 tires rub at all? Did you have to roll the fender?
Thanks!

Brian, go to Autotrend in Lindenhurst. They will fit a set of ROH if you like them. My buddy had Reflex on his classic, 17's. SWEEET!
They do powdercoating any color you want. They have some ROH-Rota rims there I have never seen before.

They do not rub at all! No cutting or rolling of fenders!

Mr Clean 07-09-2001, 07:32 AM Pretty White,
I have MAJOR connections at auto trends. I have purchased/went with friends to purchase 18 sets of rims! I have been a customer of Joe's/and mike's since 1988!!! My problem is I just don't like the styles. I am looking at getting Racing Hart C2 3 piece wheels...or something like them. Maybe Volks...Auto trends wheels are imported from Australia and are made VERY STRONG but are 1 piece and have that chunky, round, smooth European look if you know what I mean. My 1st set were CSA's 5 star...remember those??? Every Mustank had a set the 80's! hehehe I want that delicate japan style...the import turner look. I want light weight and if the wheels are delicate, that's ok since I don't drive it http://laf.cioe.com/~benbobbo/NonCGI/wink.gif Too bad you missed Hot Import Nights...what a show!!! Call me sometime!
