How's it going,
My name's Alex. I'm new to this board. I've been the proud owner of a nice 91 Se-R for over two years now that i've done a few things to: AGX, Pro-Kits, Nismo 16x7 wheels, Yoko tires, Stillen intake, and 2.5" catback exhaust. I was just wondering if there are any clubs devoted to the SE-R in the Bay Area where I live? Or fellow Se-R lovers like myself?
Thanks

Alex, how do you like your STILLEN intake? I just ordered mine last week. I'll be putting it in right when it arrives.

Hey Chris,
I like my intake. I got it about two years ago. I immediately noticed a small power increase, it revs more easily, and there's a definite increase in the noise level when you floor it. It sounds good though, like a growl! I recommend it.

Alex, the intake arrived today. A couple of quick questions. Does the breather-filter need to be oiled? STILLEN included a small pouch of K&N red air-filter oil, and the breather-filter is white in color. The actual cone air-filter is red in color, and seems to be already oiled. Also, if you installed the intake yourself, how difficult was it? I am going to attempt installing it on Friday. Thanks a lot in advance.

Yes, Chris,
The breather element does need to be oiled as well. I hate to admit it, but I did go to my mechanic to install it. He told me it was very simple but I was not brave enough to do it myself. I'm sure you could probably do it yourself, but if not it would probably take your mechanic a few minutes to do it.
Good luck!
Alex

Alex,
I may end up bringing it to my mechanic also. I don't know if I'm brave enough to do it myself, the more and more I think about it. Is the cone air-filter STILLEN sent me already oiled though? Because I only think there is enough oil in that pouch to cover the breather-filter. Thanks again for all your help.

If the cone is red then it is oiled. And if you dont put that on yourself, THAT IS WEAK!

The intake was very easy to install. Took about a half hour. I love it! That is the nicest sound I have ever heard when you hit above about 4500. http://laf.cioe.com/~benbobbo/NonCGI/biggrin.gif Thanks for all the help guys.

To Sr 20B12:
I bought my Nismo "Star" wheels from a shop here in San Francisco called Mach III. They were the only ones they had. (Nobody wanted them because I guess they don't fit Hondas). They weigh slightly below 15 lbs. and are the classic 5 spoke pattern. I don't have a scanner yet so I cannot show you what they look like. I've been pretty happy with them.
When I get a scanner I will post the pic.

Well, first thing you want to do is visit:

<http://www.serca.org>

This is the site of the SE-R Club of America. There are many SE-R folks in the bay area. They used to be better organized some years ago but I don't know of any SFBAMs (San Fran Bay Area Meets) in some time. The SoCal group is *very* active and lots of the NorCal guys travel to LA for their events.
